Our Story
Caleb University was licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria in May 2007 and began full academic activities on 21 January 2008 with three pioneer Colleges — the College of Environmental Sciences and Management (COLENSMA), the College of Pure and Applied Sciences (COPAS), and the College of Social and Management Sciences (now CASMAS).
From its take-off site at Ikosi GRA, the University relocated in November 2009 to its 110-hectare permanent campus at KM 15 Ikorodu-Itoikin Road, Imota, Lagos. Today, Caleb University comprises six colleges: COLENSMA, COPAS, CASMAS, the College of Education (COLED), the College of Law (COLAW), and the College of Postgraduate Studies (COPOS).
The Caleb University Distance Learning Centre (CUDLC) was established to extend the reach of this academic excellence beyond the geographical limits of the Imota campus — making a globally competitive Caleb education accessible to learners wherever they are.
Our Vision
To be a centre of excellence through the provision of opportunities for respectable, highly qualitative and relevant university education that will engender the production of future leaders imbued with ability and integrity capable of impacting positively on their environments while also being globally competitive.
Our Mission
To nurture individuals with a passion for learning, integrity, and social responsibility. Through rigorous academic programmes, innovative research, and experiential learning opportunities, we prepare students to become ethical leaders and productive members of society. Grounded in Christian values, Caleb University fosters a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and community engagement.
Our Core Values
- For God and Humanity — every academic and administrative decision is anchored in service to God and to people.
- Integrity — our graduates are known by their character, not just their certificates.
- Excellence — we settle for nothing less than world-class standards in teaching, research, and service.
- Innovation — we embrace technology and new pedagogies that make learning more accessible and more effective.
- Inclusivity — Caleb is faith-rooted, but our doors are open to qualified candidates of every background.
Why CUDLC?
The world has changed. Work is mobile, families are dispersed, and learners need education that fits around their lives — not the other way around. CUDLC is Caleb's direct answer: the same accreditation, the same lecturers, the same heritage, delivered through a modern learning platform with live and recorded classes, online assessments, and a vibrant student community that meets, learns, and grows together — virtually.
A phased, deliberate launch
CUDLC opens its doors with a single flagship programme — B.Sc. Computer Science — chosen because it is the most globally portable, the most economically valuable, and the most culturally aligned with the way distance learning itself is delivered. The pioneer cohort of 2026/2027 will help us refine the platform, the pedagogy, and the support model before we scale.
Our broader catalogue — Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Accounting, Mass Communication, Law, the MBA, and more — sits in the wings, each programme to be onboarded session by session as its accreditation, faculty, and course content are signed off.
