The Caleb University Distance Learning Centre exists so that a Caleb degree does not require you to be on campus. It was established to extend the University's academic work to people whose circumstances — employment, family, distance, disability — make full-time residential study impractical, without lowering what that degree means.
The same degree, delivered differently
Caleb University has been licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria since 17 May 2007 and has been in full operation since 21 January 2008. A degree earned through the Distance Learning Centre is awarded by Caleb University and carries the same recognition as any other Nigerian university degree. The certificate does not record the mode of study.
How the teaching works
CUDLC follows the model approved by the National Universities Commission for this kind of programme: ICT-Enabled Supported Blended Learning, or IESBL. It combines continuous online instruction across each semester with brief on-campus tutorial periods that complement the online work. You study where you are, for most of the year, and come to Imota only for the short periods that genuinely benefit from being in a room together.

What is running now
The Centre has opened deliberately, with one programme rather than a catalogue. B.Sc. Computer Science is the pioneer programme — four years, 120 credits, delivered by distance learning. Further programmes will be added as each is prepared and approved, not before.
Who leads the Centre
CUDLC is led by Professor Moses Kehinde Aregbesola, whose work spans artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity and software engineering, supported by a management committee drawn from across the University.
Standards
Quality assurance at the Centre is continuous rather than periodic: it is built into how programmes are designed, how course materials are produced, how examinations are conducted, and how learners are supported. The standards the Centre works to are those of the parent University and of the NUC.

Where we come from
The Centre is an extension of a university whose stated ambition, from the beginning, has been to provide education without discrimination on the basis of age, race, tribe, gender, religion or any other classification — and to make that delivery as flexible as the available media allow. Distance learning is that ambition put into practice.
